I work in a spontaneous, experimental way, drawing inspiration from my feelings and imagination, using a variety of mixed media, collaging objects like smashed Coca-Cola cans, sand, semi-precious stones, rocks, pieces of jewelry or metal found in my travels. I create a dialogue between myself and the paintings, through a process of layering color, creating texture, forms, adding, subtracting, sanding, without a preconceived plan or idea. The act of layering takes almost on a ritual quality, a form of meditation, making me feel connected with the passage of time, erosion and sedimentation of nature.
I want to connect to the viewers on a deep emotional level, so they can feel a sense of mystery, beauty and hope, evolving into a healing source. I strongly believe in the Healing Power of Art.
